ABOUT WINTER VILLAGE MUSIC

Winter Village Music hosts a variety of acoustic music events at La Tourelle, a beautiful 55 room inn located in Ithaca, New York.  Our first event was the Winter Village Bluegrass Festival held in 2011 and featuring the Claire Lynch Band.  Since that time we have shifted our focus to hosting music camps that feature great teacher-performers offering instruction at all levels and some amazing evening concerts.

Winter Village Music was founded by Rick Manning.  Rick's partners and hosts Winter Village Music are Scott Wiggins, whose family owns and operates La Tourelle and August Moon Spa on South Hill in Ithaca, and La Tourelle General Manager Cameron Ostemier. Rick and Scott are musicians, music lovers, and active in the Ithaca community.  Together they founded the Friends of Stewart Park and are working to revitalize Ithaca's favorite lakefront historic park, Rick as Executive Director and Scott as Past Board Chairman.  Special thanks to EJ George who coordinates workshop scheduling, volunteers and so much more, both before and during the event, to Stan Stewart who handles much of our social media, and to all of the volunteers that help out during the weekend.

Our Music Camp Host - La Tourelle

La Tourelle is a wonderful place to spend musical winter weekends for both the Winter Village and Falling Waters Music Camps.  It is a warm, inviting and family-owned green-certified 55 room boutique hotel - elegant while casual and comfortable.  La Tourelle offers a variety of comfortable rooms some close to the musical activities and others in a designated quiet wing.  The Bistro at La Tourelle will offer great breakfast, lunch and dinner along with a bar featuring local beer, wine and spirits and free coffee throughout the weekend. The Music Hall at La Tourelle is an intimate venue for the camp concerts, comfortable with great sound.
