Alex Deane

Alex Deane started playing fiddle, falling in love with bluegrass music, and writing songs as a child in Nashville, TN. Since relocating to New York City, she has evolved into a multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter known for her soulful voice and emotionally resonant songs that stay with you long after the last note. With a teaching style that emphasizes connection more than perfection, she is passionate about helping people find their way to playing music together with others at any skill level. She currently performs as a solo artist as well as with the bawdy blues quartet Dirty Mother String Band.
