Austin Scelzo
Welcome back Austin Scelzo to the Winter Village Music Camp 2026 faculty! A passionate educator, dynamic fiddler, and tireless advocate for bluegrass communities, Austin brings an infectious energy to every workshop and performance. Trained under legendary fiddlers at Berklee’s early Mark O’Connor String Camps, Austin blends deep roots in tradition with a fresh, inclusive approach to teaching and playing. After years as a public school orchestra teacher, he now leads jam classes, curates the Bluegrass Coffeehouse series, and founded the Connecticut Bluegrass Music Association—all while continuing to teach at top camps and festivals across the Northeast. Named a 2023 Connecticut Arts Hero, Austin is known for his warmth, creativity, and dedication to making bluegrass accessible to musicians of all backgrounds.
