Jennifer Arey

Multinstrumentalist Jennifer Arey plays keyboard, guitar, ukulele and sings. Born in Greenville, Texas, she learned keyboard as a child and soon after taught herself guitar. By her 20s she was jamming with other musicians and gigging in the region. For the next decades she toured as a duo with her then husband throughout the west. Her favorite times were spending summer months on the Alaskan coast and having steady gigs in the tourist hotels there.

When not touring she taught guitar and keyboard to children and adults. She contrived with one student to learn ukulele and that has been in her repertoire ever since. Jennifer calls herself a ‘rustic musician’ as she is primarily self taught and plays a range of Americana music including country and rock and roll.

Jennifer moved to Ithaca NY in 2015 to live with her daughter Romy. She currently plays with Ithaca Ukes, for which she is the musical and rhythmic centre. She looks forward to teaching you and widening her circle of musical opportunities. She’s a pip.
