Rakish

We’re thrilled to welcome Rakish to the Winter Village Music 2026 faculty! Rooted in tradition and propelled by a spirit of innovation, the duo, fiddler and songwriter Maura Shawn Scanlin and guitarist Conor Hearn, blend the richness of Celtic and Appalachian music with the improvisational energy of chamber and folk traditions. Rakish creates a sound that is both deeply grounded and refreshingly original. Their new album Now, O Now further showcases their signature fusion of old and new, offering a vivid musical journey that defies genre. Whether on major festival stages or in our intimate camp workshops, Rakish brings curiosity, connection, and joyful exploration to every performance and teaching moment.
